Beta reading
Aug. 6th, 2013 10:09 pmHi everyone!
There's a post already over on LJ but to cover our bases here's the one on DW too! This is a post collecting betas! Beta reading is an entirely optional way of participating, and you don't need to be participating to be a beta reader.
If you would like to help out a writer by being a beta reader, now's your chance! If you could fill out the questions below, then you will be added to a spreadsheet
I'll be collating the beta offers across the two posts at this google doc so hopefully this ought to cover most people!

a) The fandoms you can beta for. Obviously, the better you know the canon the more effective you'll be as a beta. If you're willing to do a general spelling and grammar beta (i.e. proofreading, so no canon knowledge required), please mention that too.
b) The maximum length you're willing to beta. It's no good getting a 4000-word fic and not having the time or attention span to beta it.
c) Your contact details. If you don't check your email often, be sure to provide alternative ways for someone to contact you, otherwise someone might email you with a fic at the eleventh hour and get no response.
